The Cicero Volunteer Fire Department has various types of membership:
Associate Member is a member of the department who does not respond to alarms on the fire ground. The primary function of an Associate Member is to assist the fire department in administrative duties, fundraising and other activities that would support the corporation side of the fire department.
Exterior Firefighter is a member who is required to complete a NYS Scene Support Class and a Cicero Fire Department in-house training program that allows the member to respond to alarms providing assistance to those members who are interior firefighters. An Exterior Firefighter is required to make annual alarms, training and meeting requirements as outline in the department bylaws.
Interior Firefighter is a member who is required to complete a NYS Firefighter 1 training class and the Cicero Fire Department in-house training program that certifies the member to become an Interior Firefighter. An Interior Firefighter is required to make annual alarms, training and meeting requirements as outline in the department bylaws.
Fire Police are members who do not wish to ride the apparatus, their main operating function is for traffic / by-stander control at the following examples of incidents. Motor Vehicle Collisions and Fire related incidents (where danger is not present).
Junior Firefighter is a (16 sixteen and (17) seventeen year old member that has limited specified duties and requires parental approval.
